Winter is coming, and we want to help a local family stay warm.
We’re giving away a brand new high-efficiency furnace (including professional installation) to a homeowner who is truly in need.
No purchase necessary. Open to legal residents of Ontario (excluding Quebec) who have reached the age of majority. Employees of deBoer HVAC and their immediate families are not eligible. Winners will be selected based on demonstrated need and must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and complete a short declaration. Prize is a new furnace and standard installation only where the home is suitable (existing ductwork, fuel type, access, and code requirements). Odds depend on the number and quality of eligible nominations. Contest runs September 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Official Rules
2. Contest Period
The Contest begins on September 1, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. ET and ends on September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). Nominations received after the Contest Period will not be considered.
3. Eligibility
The Contest is open only to legal residents of Ontario (excluding the Province of Quebec) who have reached the age of majority in Ontario at the time of nomination.
Not eligible:
- Employees, officers, directors, contractors, and agents of the Sponsor
- Immediate family members of the above (spouse, parent, child, sibling) and persons living in the same household
The nominee (the person who would receive the furnace) must:
- Be a legal resident of Ontario (excluding Quebec) and of the age of majority
- Own or legally occupy a residential home in the Sponsor’s service area (Brantford, County of Brant, and surrounding communities as determined by the Sponsor)
- Have a genuine need for a replacement furnace
- Be able to accept installation at the nominated property during the installation window set by the Sponsor
The nominator and the nominee may be the same person (self-nomination is allowed).
4. No Purchase Necessary
No purchase or payment of any kind is required to nominate or to win.
5. How to Enter / Nominate
During the Contest Period, complete all of the following:
- Follow deBoer HVAC on Facebook and/or Instagram.
- Comment on the official giveaway post with the nominee’s first name and town/city.
- Submit a nomination through one of these methods:
- Private message to the deBoer HVAC Facebook or Instagram page, or
- The nomination form on deboerhvac.ca, or
- Email to admin@deboerhvac.ca with the subject line “Furnace Giveaway Nomination”
The nomination must include:
- Nominator’s full name and contact information
- Nominee’s full name, phone number, email, and property address
- A short written explanation of why the nominee needs a new furnace
- Confirmation that the nominator has the nominee’s permission to share their information for this Contest
Limit: one nomination per nominee. Duplicate or incomplete nominations may be disqualified.
6. Prize
There is ONE prize available.
The prize consists of:
- One (1) new high-efficiency residential gas furnace selected by the Sponsor (Rheem model determined by the Sponsor based on the home’s requirements), and
- Standard professional installation by deBoer HVAC at the winner’s qualifying residential property
Approximate retail value will vary with equipment size and site conditions.
What is included: furnace, standard installation labour, basic start-up, and the Sponsor’s standard workmanship warranty as offered on comparable paid installations.
What is not included (unless the Sponsor agrees in writing):
- Major ductwork changes, electrical panel upgrades, gas line upgrades beyond a standard connection, chimney/liner work, permits beyond the Sponsor’s normal process, asbestos or other hazardous-material abatement, or work required because the home is not ready for a like-for-like replacement
- Thermostats, humidifiers, air cleaners, or other accessories unless included at the Sponsor’s discretion
- Homes outside the Sponsor’s service area
- Commercial properties, new construction, or properties that fail a site assessment
The prize is not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and must be accepted as awarded. The Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the intended equipment is unavailable.
Site assessment: Before a prize is confirmed, the Sponsor will inspect the property. If the home is not suitable for a safe, code-compliant standard installation, the prize may be forfeited and another nominee selected.
7. Winner Selection
This is a need-based contest, not a random draw.
After the Contest Period, the Sponsor will review all eligible nominations and select winners based on:
- Demonstrated need (safety, broken or failing equipment, hardship, health, or inadequate heat)
- Suitability of the home for a standard furnace replacement
- Completeness and sincerity of the nomination
- Ability to complete installation in a reasonable time
The Sponsor’s decisions are final.
8. Winner Confirmation
A selected nominee is not a winner until confirmed.
To be confirmed, the selected nominee (or their parent/guardian if applicable) must, within five (5) business days of notification:
- Sign and return the Sponsor’s declaration and release (confirming eligibility, acceptance of the prize as awarded, and permission to use town, and non-sensitive story details for publicity, winner name can remain anonymous)
- Complete a site assessment that confirms the home can receive a standard installation
If a selected nominee cannot be reached, does not return the release, or the home is not suitable, the prize may be forfeited and another nominee selected.
9. Odds
Odds of winning depend on the number and quality of eligible nominations received.
10. Privacy
Personal information is collected only to administer the Contest, assess nominations, contact potential winners, and install a prize if awarded. Information will not be sold. Public posts may use town, and a general description of the story, with consent.
11. Publicity
By accepting a prize, the winner agrees that the Sponsor may use their town/city, and a brief non-sensitive description of the nomination for social media, website, and local marketing, without further compensation, except where prohibited.
12. General Conditions
The Sponsor may disqualify any nomination that is incomplete, misleading, late, or contrary to these Rules. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost messages, platform outages, or technical problems. Facebook and Instagram are not sponsors of this Contest and are not responsible for it.
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws. These Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
13. Winner List
The Winners town may be posted on the Sponsor’s website and social pages after confirmation.
